This page houses a collection of FREEWARE programs for manipulating, editing and transforming sound. Please see the spec page for minimum system requirements.

Many new computers are now being shipped with soundcards as standard, which means that many more people are able to experiment with sampling and electronic music. There are many professional, shareware and freeware programs on the market to help the electronic musician, amateur or otherwise, express their creative self. This is why I decided to have a go at writing a set of programs for manipulating and transforming samples. My collection doesn't focus on one specialist area such as reverb or compression, but rather, I have created a set of programs each with a very different effect.

While you can just pick the 'sound' you want and process your samples, what is much more fun is experiment by running the output of one program the the input of another. The order of the day is experimentation...happy sampling!!!

If you have any comments, or ideas for future enhancments to these programs, please feel free to E-mail comments to

N.B. All of the programs here only accept MONO, 8 Bit, 22050 Hz PCM (RAW DATA) samples, *.WAV support is the next stage in their development, but until then you'll have to get hold of a sample converter...
